Welcome to the website, courses and related services of Hedge is King. These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) apply to international students outside Hong Kong, including users resident in the United States, the United Kingdom and other countries/regions. Please read these Terms in full before using our website, enrolling in a course, becoming a member or using any related service. Wherever you are located, these Terms and any related dispute are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and shall be resolved only in the Hong Kong courts.
Last updated: June 2026Whether or not you have become a registered member, by accessing our website, enrolling in a course, using a subscription service, or using any related product or service, you represent that you have read, understood and fully agree to these Terms and are unconditionally bound by them. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not access or use our website or services.
If you accept these Terms on behalf of a company, organisation or other entity, you represent and warrant that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
We reserve the right to change these Terms at any time without prior notice. We update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our business, legal requirements and user feedback. You are responsible for reviewing these Terms periodically for any changes. If you continue to access or use our website or services after changes take effect, you agree to be unconditionally bound by the amended Terms.
From time to time we provide students with options- and finance-related online courses, live classes, class recordings, lectures, webinars, Q&A and other learning activities (collectively, the “Services”). Some Services are delivered online through a third-party learning platform (LearnWorlds).
Our website may provide general news, information, commentary, interactive tools, quotes, research and data on stocks or other financial markets. Paid content is for the personal use of paying students or subscribers only and may not be transferred to any other person or group.
The Services we provide are for educational and informational purposes only, and the content may not be used or construed as marketing, endorsing, recommending or sponsoring any product or service. We do not warrant, and accept no responsibility for, the accuracy, reliability, completeness, timeliness, suitability or continued availability of any information delivered through the Services.
Our website, courses and paid content are strictly for education and academic study and do not involve investment advice of any kind.
We, our instructors and the authors of paid content accept no responsibility for any loss arising from any statement in our courses or content.
Hedge is King is an education and training organisation. In most jurisdictions, simply providing training or sharing general investment knowledge does not require a licence from a financial regulator.
We are not registered or licensed with any of the following as an investment adviser, broker-dealer or any regulated financial intermediary:
Accordingly, we will not, and are not authorised to, provide you with regulated investment advice or execute trades on your behalf. Please note in particular: learning trading skills using a simulated portfolio can be an effective learning method, but trading real securities on someone else’s recommendation goes beyond the proper scope of teaching. Anyone who trades regulated securities or derivatives on your behalf, or advises on such trades, is generally required to hold the relevant licence in their jurisdiction.
Trading options and derivatives involves substantial risk and is not suitable for all investors. You may lose all, or more than, your original capital. Before making any trade, you should fully understand the risks involved and consider whether they are appropriate for your financial situation, investment objectives and risk tolerance.
Some courses and membership services are subject to fees (“Paid Services”). You must pay the fees in the amount and manner we notify from time to time. All fees are stated in the published currency and may not include taxes applicable in your jurisdiction.
Where a course offers instalment payments, each instalment will be charged on the agreed schedule. If you authorise automatic payment, the relevant fees will be deducted automatically from your payment method on each agreed date without further notice. To keep the Services running, you must pay on time; if you fail to do so, we may, at our discretion, suspend or terminate all or part of the Services provided to you.
Except as provided in Section 7.4 below, or as otherwise agreed by us in writing, all fees paid are non-refundable, non-transferable and non-exchangeable; early cancellation does not result in a pro-rata refund.
Where a course is digital content or delivered online: once you begin accessing the course content, you are deemed to have agreed that we begin providing the Service immediately, and no refund is available for the portion already provided.
This refund policy and any dispute arising from it are governed exclusively by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and construed in accordance with Hong Kong law.
If the Services are interrupted for any reason (including an instructor or columnist ceasing to provide services, leaving, or terminating their agreement with us), we undertake to notify affected students as soon as possible and may transfer their unused balance to another course, lecture or column; or, after deducting applicable handling fees (such as payment-gateway, credit-card or PayPal charges), refund the balance within ninety (90) days after the relevant Service ends.
To use our Services, you may need to open an account. You must provide accurate, current and complete identification and contact details at registration and are responsible for keeping them updated. If you provide any false, inaccurate, outdated, incomplete or misleading information, or we have reasonable grounds to suspect so, we may, at our discretion, refuse, suspend or terminate your account or Services without prior notice, and without any refund or liability.
You must keep your account number and password secure and are responsible, at your own risk, for all activity under your account. We accept no liability for any loss arising from your failure to keep your account details confidential. If your account is compromised, you must notify us as soon as possible.
The content of our Services (including but not limited to text, files, music, audio, photos, video, graphics, advertising content, software code and user-interface design, the “Service Content”) is protected by copyright, trademark, patent or other intellectual property laws. We own the intellectual property rights in all Service Content, or are authorised to publish it.
Without our prior written consent, you may not modify, reproduce, reprint, distribute, publish, store in a database, display to third parties, or create any derivative works. If you submit or post any content on our website, you warrant that you have the right to submit it and grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, analyse, share, reproduce and publish that content; we reserve the right to refuse or remove any content.
Student testimonials, sharing and any results or return figures on the website are genuine accounts from individual students that reflect their personal experience only, are not typical results, and do not constitute any guarantee of returns. An individual’s outcome depends on many factors, including personal effort, experience, market conditions and risk management; your results may differ, and you may even incur losses.
We reserve the right to change, suspend or terminate all or part of the Services at any time and for any reason without prior notice. If we consider that your conduct breaches these Terms, we may immediately suspend or terminate the Services provided to you without prior notice. Once the Services are suspended or terminated, your right to use them ceases immediately and you no longer have the right to access data and content stored on our Services. We have no liability to you for exercising our rights under this section. Sections 10, 13 to 16 and 18 to 20 of these Terms survive termination.
Our Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, neither we nor our affiliates, officers, agents, contractors or other service partners shall be liable for any consequential, incidental, special, direct or indirect loss (including but not limited to loss of profits, trading losses, loss of business opportunity, or loss arising from the use of or inability to use our Services), whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such loss.
To the extent permitted by law, our total financial liability to you shall not exceed the amount you have actually paid us for the relevant Service. Nothing in this section excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
You shall fully indemnify us and any related parties against all claims, losses, damages, proceedings, judgments, legal costs and liabilities or expenses of any kind brought by any person arising from your use of our Services, your breach of these Terms, or your infringement of another person’s intellectual property or other rights.
By accessing this website and/or using the Services, you agree to use them at your own risk. All content on this website provided by third parties and published by us (including news, quotes, data and other information) is for your personal reference only and is not intended for trading purposes.
If our performance of the Services is prevented, restricted or interfered with by system or network failure, fire, explosion, strike, labour dispute, accident, lack of transport, epidemic, extreme weather, earthquake, flood, war, civil unrest, act of God, lockdown, embargo or any event beyond our control, we shall be excused from performing the relevant obligations to the extent and for the period affected.
For live or in-person classes, in the event of technical failure, a presenter emergency, extreme weather or other force majeure, we may need to reschedule, move online, or cancel individual classes. In such cases, we will notify affected students as soon as possible and provide a reasonable make-up arrangement or class recording so that you do not miss the content. International students should note the time-zone difference between their location and the class, and arrange suitable internet and devices accordingly.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. You irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region; any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or our Services may be brought and resolved only in Hong Kong, and is not subject to the laws or courts of your own jurisdiction.
Severability: If any provision of these Terms is unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed severable and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.
Waiver: Our waiver of any provision shall not be deemed a further or continuing waiver of that or any other provision; our failure or delay in exercising any right does not constitute a waiver.
Headings: Headings in these Terms are for convenience only and do not affect their interpretation.
